Great Minds

Great MindsThank the Lord for the revolutionary decade of the 90s that brought to us new style, fashion and well, media. The web-series trend that started as an experiment has now taken over the internet! With great victory, comes a greater reward- our reward has got to be the new Great Minds web series!

Although this new web series, Great Minds is still under construction, you’d be thrilled to see something like never before. Great Minds is a cocktail of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt who meets the United States of Tara!

Great Minds think alike and fools seldom differ.

The entire concept of greatness of minds is reflected in the similar ways two geniuses envision scenarios and analyze situations. The multiple personalities of the twins are a metaphor for the characters we create in life to avoid direct encounters with ourselves and those closest to us. While this creates hilarious characters and at times outrageous comedy, there are real touching, raw moments of vulnerability and truth that penetrate through the farce and hold a mirror up to ourselves. The show works in a way, for example, if one of the siblings’ personalities switches to a fitness freak mode, the other’s does too. So even when they have switched personalities, they’re still twins.

However, to execute this unique and out of the box concept, the writers and directors have casted equally extraordinary actors and actresses. Featuring as the lead role is our all-time favorite Battle Ground actress, Sarah Mawbey. Sarah’s realistic approach to her character is pretty obvious from her in-depth association with her characters; a quality that makes her such an expert of her art.

Great Minds 2The role Sarah plays in Great Minds requires an infused characterization of humor and humility. Although Sarah steals the show with her humoristic capabilities, she has managed to maintain a consistent vulnerability in her character which is utterly engaging and enchanting.

The show also hosts an ambitious, self-serving and heavily self-medicating psychiatrist, played by the brilliant Chantelle James, who serves as a proxy for the audience. She asks all the questions everyone’s desperate to know, all the while desperately trying to use the twins to further her own career fame. Here is where we witness another jab at how many of us in life don’t think about the cost to others as we seek out our own ambitions, numbing our experience of life with readily available and unnecessary medications. According to reports and expert speculations, several networks have bid in to get their hands on Great Minds. We can only hope the producers make up their great minds soon so we can experience this journey of thrill, drama and comedy with Sarah’s exceptional skills, on-screen.
